Familiar with the local Akita festival music from an early age, she began playing the taiko drum at age of 2 and the flute at age of 9. In middle and high school, she was a member of the brass band, learning the fundamentals of Western music. After graduating from high school, she spent approximately six years with a professional Japanese musical instrument group. She primarily plays the shinobue, and tours domestically and internationally, performing over 100 shows annually. Currently, as a wadaiko (Japanese drum) and shinobue (Japanese flute) player, she is actively collaborating with Western instruments to promote the new appeal of traditional Japanese music.
